The salon is buzzing with concerns about our economy. I believe that we will see an upturn in this year, but the question is what do we do now to support our community and our small businesses that we love. Here are a few hints that each and everyone one of us can do to make a difference.

• Pay with cash or write a check instead of using credit or debit cards because 3% or more goes back to the banking institution.
• Referrals, Referrals, Referrals to the places you love. Every referral is appreciated by every business. At Tijeras you can earn 6 bucks for every referral to be used toward your next service.
• Support the nonprofit organization that you are passionate about. There are two that I support: First, S.A.F.E. House for domestic violence victims. They have a wonderful thrift store for donations. Click here for full information. The second is Animal Humane Association of New Mexico. click
