A: This question is one I am frequently asked. Not only does hair build up on brushes, but using styling aids, such as hair sprays and gels, makes brushes seem impossible to clean. First, buy a cheap nylon brush from your local grocery store or Walgreen's. Use the cheap brush to remove hair buildup from your good hair brushes. Then, put your good hair brushes in the dishwasher, on the top shelf. Rigorous dishwasher cleaning will make your good hair brush like new. Wow!
